Never in human history have people been able to access so much information so quickly. The bulk of these changes have taken place in just the last 15 years. Our educational system has not kept up. As information technology becomes more central to our daily lives, teaching students how to engage with information critically is crucial. Understanding how the brain interacts with technology, how technology exploits our brains’ biases, and how we can counter these challenges by engaging with online information critically, are essential skills for all educators.
