I still consider myself a rookie teacher even though I have been in the classroom for sixteen years. As a former military brat and expat, I have been fortunate to see and experience different cultures around the world and I endeavor to use that experience in every subject I teach.
Social Studies can create empathy, but empathy can only develop out of interaction. Give your students access to other societies, and a world of empathy and engagement will open up to them.
